Cold War Jazz ProjectThe Cold War Jazz Project is a multimedia exhibition combined with live music performance. It has been conceived and written by Les Blachut of Poland and Zoltan Grof of Hungary.
The program includes live music performance by the International Jazz Ensemble (Les Blachut, Zoltan Grof, Nestor Zurita, Juan Natividad, Ranses Colon, Luis Macias) intervened with spoken word by narrators (Dr. & Mrs. Joel Steward) including a discussion/Q&A session with the audience and artwork exhibition of the Cold War Era collected in Eastern Europe. The project was brought to life for the first time in January of 2013. It took place in the Coral Springs Museum of Art and was made possible by a grant provided thanks to the kind generosity of the Chautauqua Institution. Here's a short video sample from this show: Blues to Jazz Over the years the Cold War Jazz Project has been shown many times in museums, libraries, concert halls, schools, religious institutions and festivals. It is a great educational and entertaining program that allows audience to interact with the musicians as well as dance along the music. A recent movie by the Polish director Pawel Pawlikowski entitled Cold War is a good example of what kind of musical story one could expect to experience during the show. Please contact us if you are interested in hosting or sponsoring further development of this project. Les Blachut 954-993-5494 [email protected] Thanks! |
